If you can, go vote! - November 2, 2004

For those of you old enough to vote, please get on out there and do your duty! It's important, no matter who you vote for or where you live.

Then when you are done, I suggest you change your mood to 'patriotic' and let everyone know what a good citizen you've been!

October is sweater weather - October 4, 2004

Unfortunately, we don't have much news to report on the imood end of things. We have been crazy busy with the day jobs to do much more than keep the site up and running for you fine folks. It's getting chilly here in the Big Apple, and we're starting to don sweaters and coats and anticipating autumn and all that comes with it.

I do love this time of year, and wish everyone a happy and healthy October.

More news when we've got it, I promise.

Downtime - May 28, 2004

So, as you probably noticed, we've been having some downtime lately, due to some problems with the server that we're on. We're working on a solution to the problem and will hopefully be moving forward on this in the near future.

Thanks for bearing with us, and to those of you in the US, have a lovely Memorial Day weekend!

Virus warning - March 3, 2004

So there has been this new email virus going around now that claims:

"Your e-mail account has been temporary disabled because of unauthorized
access."

or

"Our antivirus software has detected a large ammount of viruses outgoing from your email account, you may use our free anti-virus tool to clean up your computer software."

And it is signed "The Imood.com team."

This email did NOT come from us and you should not open the attachment. If there is ever any problem with the imood service, we will announce it on our web site and will not be sending around anything like this -- especially not anything with an attachment that you have to open.

As a general rule, you should not open any attachments that you aren't expecting.

The Internet is a scary place. Play safe!

Something fun! - February 20, 2004

Here's something I came across today that looks interesting. Someone (whether seriously or not) is trying to track world moods and plot them against different trends in the world. So pop on over and check it out.

We have a winner! - February 9, 2004

Our user Kelley was the first person to find exactly what I was looking for! You can check it out here at Tribalectic!

Most everyone who emailed me sent in links to the barbell tongue piece that I had already found.

Thanks all for your efforts!

I need your help for Valentine's Day! - February 5, 2004

Hey kids! Valentine's Day is approaching and I need your help finding something for my friend. I am looking for a navel ring with a whistle on it that actually works. So far I've only found tongue rings that do this, but I know the navel one exists.

The first person who can find me one online, or can get one to me by Valentine's Day, will win a free item from the Imood Store, or $10 from PayPal.

Please email me at vday@andrewschulak.com with your finds. Get hunting!

Usernames are here!!! - January 18, 2004

NOTE: usernames can be set by ALL imood users now!

First of all, let me give you a little bit of background.

When imood was first started, the Web was a much friendlier place. Spam was not nearly the problem it is today, and most people had an email address that they pretty much stuck with all the time. It made the most sense for us to identify our users by email address, in order to add that extra level of personal connectedness that we were striving for with our site.

Fast forward to 2004. Spam accounts for over half of all the email out on the Internet today. People have as many email addresses as they have clothes in their closets. And imood was stuck in the '90s.

After much tweaking on the innards of the imood system, I am pleased to announce that we are finally launching usernames. You will now be able to log into our system with your username, but more importantly, your email address will not be made public on our website any more. This is a huge advancement for imood, and we are glad that we are able to bring it to you.

There is still a bit of work left to be done, so if you set your username and see your email address posted somewhere on our site, please let us know and we'll get right on fixing that.

Also, please remember that after you set your username, you should re-build your imood indicator code to use your username instead of your email address.

Ladies and gentlemen, set your usernames!
